THE MARKET · THEIR OWN PAGES, CHECKED JULY 2026
Cut to the Case vs PrepLounge
PrepLounge is the biggest case-partner marketplace on the internet, and at $79 for a year of Premium it is fairly priced for what it is: 200 practice cases, 30 video tutorials, and unlimited mock interviews with strangers who are exactly as lost as you are. That last clause is the ceiling: your practice partner is another candidate, not an interviewer.
And read the refund line before you pay: there isn't one. 'No refund of membership fees,' their words. Mine is 30 days, full, one email. Rep with peers anywhere you like, including their free tier; learn the game from someone who sat on the scoring side of the table.

THE WHOLE GAME, NOT ONE STAGE
Learn. Drill. Perform.
Prep only works as a loop: the course teaches the game, the gyms drill each skill in isolation, and the cases and simulations make you perform the whole thing under grading. Most of this market sells you one stage and calls it prep.
STAGE 01 · LEARN
Hear the wisdom
12 hours of video from a McKinsey interviewer: business from zero, consulting math, the Interview Dance, behavioral, office strategy.
STAGE 02 · DRILL
Isolate each skill
Math Gym, Chart Lab, Structure Studio, flashcards. One skill at a time, like touches on a training pitch.
STAGE 03 · PERFORM
Play full matches
Six interactive cases graded on an interviewer rubric, plus timed McKinsey, BCG + Bain exam and game simulations.
Like training for match day: study the game, drill the touches, then play full matches until it is automatic. Skip a stage and the gap shows up in the interview, not before.
WHERE PREPLOUNGE LEAVES YOU
Every stage at half depth, and no one scoring you at any of them.
LEARN · Partial
30 video tutorials
DRILL · Partial
220 interactive exercises
PERFORM · Partial
Unlimited peer mocks, ungraded; no exam or game sims advertised

TWO RECRUITING CYCLES

PREPLOUNGE
$79 × 2 cycles before any coaching. The hidden cost no invoice shows: hours spent in mocks with partners who can't tell you what the interviewer actually scores.
When PrepLounge is the better pick
- · You want live human mock reps on a budget; peer practice genuinely helps at the polish stage.
- · You want a big community, forum answers, and partners across time zones.
- · You already know the method and only need volume.
Fair questions.
Aren't live partners better than AI grading?
Live reps are valuable; the question is who is judging them. Two first-timers casing each other reinforce each other's habits, good and bad. The strong combination is: learn the method and get graded here, then use peers, on PrepLounge's free tier or anywhere, for live reps once you know what good looks like.
Is a 200-case library better than six cases?
Only if you use it, and almost nobody does. Case 40 teaches you little that case 12 didn't. Six distinct archetypes, performed and graded, beat a queue you abandon in week two.
No refunds, really?
Their shop page says membership fees are not refunded if you delete your account. Weigh that against 30 days, full, one email, and decide who is confident in their product.
Decide with 30 days of cover, not 24 hours.
